The Supelec Foundation was created in 2003 — by ABB, EDF, the FIEEC, RTE, Schlumberger, Schneider Electric and the Supelec Engineers Association — to assist Supelec in the development of its capacities and reputation, especially at the global level.

It was soon granted Research Foundation status by the Ministry of Research and, thus, provided with state matching funds.

Capital raised since its founding: 13.325 million € (as of end of December 2008)
